NXTT earnings analysis
What we found in NXTT's 10-Q: the parts that mattered, the offsets in the same document, and what the company said about what comes next.
Our reading of the filing · Free to read, no account needed
NXTT established a commercial revenue base, reporting $1.3 million of six-month service revenue versus nil a year earlier and a 33.1% gross margin, but the filing does not provide a separate quarterly income-statement analysis because management states first- and second-quarter operating results did not vary materially. Profitability deteriorated sharply: the company recorded a $135.6 million six-month net loss versus $312.0 million income a year ago, chiefly reflecting a $164.6 million unrealized Bitcoin fair-value loss and an $11.4 million operating loss. Liquidity improved materially to $159.0 million of cash following $155.5 million of financing inflows, but results and the asset base remain highly exposed to Bitcoin volatility, while disclosure controls were ineffective as of June 30, 2026.
The parts that mattered.
Pulled out of the filing itself, with the figures the company reported.
- Commercial software revenue began ramping
- Six-month service revenue reached $1,306,168, versus nil in the comparable 2025 period, driven by two commercial agreements in smart water-system management and AI customization. Gross profit was $431,711 and gross margin was 33.1%.
- Cash liquidity increased sharply
- Cash and cash equivalents rose to $159,043,268 at June 30, 2026 from $5,623,944 at December 31, 2025, principally supported by $155,488,989 of financing cash inflow.
- Working capital and liabilities improved
- The company reported positive working capital of $509.4 million at June 30, 2026. Total liabilities declined to $27,010,287 from $68,552,005 at year-end, including deferred tax liabilities falling to $24,092,072 from $64,616,342.
- Low operating cash burn and no capex
- Operating cash outflow was relatively limited at $2,069,665 for the six months, while capital expenditures and investing cash flow were nil; consequently, free cash flow was negative $2,069,665 with zero capex intensity.
- Receivables declined as revenue expanded
- Accounts receivable declined to $127,500 from $354,772 at December 31, 2025, despite the $1,306,168 of six-month revenue, consistent with cash collections cited by management.
And the other side of it.
The offsets in the same document — the things a summary that only listed the good news would have left out.
- Bitcoin valuation drove major earnings reversal
- The company swung from net income of $312,014,952 in the first six months of 2025 to a net loss of $135,564,403 in the first six months of 2026. The loss included $164,643,679 of other expense, primarily an unrealized fair-value loss on Bitcoin holdings.
- Operating-cost base far exceeds revenue
- Operating loss widened to $11,444,994 from $705,820 a year earlier as total operating expenses rose to $11,876,705 from $705,820. General and administrative expense was $8,123,815, R&D was $3,039,330, and selling and marketing expense was $713,560.
- Asset base remains concentrated in Bitcoin
- Digital assets remained $351,509,806 at June 30, 2026, or roughly 69% of $512,362,615 total assets. Management explicitly expects Bitcoin-price volatility to continue affecting future reported financial performance.
- Material control deficiencies remain unremediated
- Disclosure controls and procedures were ineffective as of June 30, 2026 due to deficiencies including lack of U.S. GAAP expertise, segregation of duties, and layered accounting review. The company said remediation measures had not been fully completed.
- Litigation over alleged loans continues
- The Wyoming oral-loan litigation seeks approximately $2,064,108 plus Hong Kong-dollar amounts, interest, attorneys' fees and costs; its trial date was continued to April 5, 2027. Management cannot estimate the potential loss while discovery is ongoing.
