EVI earnings analysis

What we found in EVI's 10-K: the parts that mattered, the offsets in the same document, and what the company said about what comes next.

Our reading of the filing · Free to read, no account needed

EVI delivered strong fiscal 2026 revenue and gross-profit growth, supported substantially by acquisitions, and modestly improved operating margin. Diluted EPS declined to $0.48 from $0.49 as interest expense increased, while the company continued to fund acquisitions, dividends and capital expenditures with operating cash flow and debt capacity. The September 2026 $37.4 million Sudsies acquisition provides a new growth avenue and is expected to be accretive in fiscal 2027, but its incomplete purchase accounting, integration requirements and variable-rate debt exposure temper the outlook.

What stood out

The parts that mattered.

Pulled out of the filing itself, with the figures the company reported.

Revenue and Gross Profit Accelerated
Fiscal 2026 revenue increased to $446.6 million from $389.8 million in fiscal 2025, while gross profit rose to $140.7 million from $118.3 million. Gross margin improved to approximately 31.5% from 30.4%.
Operating Profit Up, EPS Slightly Lower
Operating income increased to $15.7 million from $13.8 million, and operating margin improved modestly to approximately 3.5% from 3.5% on rounded figures. However, diluted EPS was $0.48 versus $0.49 in fiscal 2025, reflecting higher interest and tax costs.
Acquisitions Remain the Growth Engine
Management continues to pursue a buy-and-build strategy involving acquisitions, added sales and service personnel, new product lines, enhanced service capabilities, facilities and technology. Businesses acquired in fiscal 2026 and 2025 contributed approximately $86.5 million and $18.4 million of revenue, respectively, in the reported periods.
Entry Into Consumer Garment Care
On September 1, 2026, EVI acquired Sudsies for $37.4 million in cash and established a new consumer garment care services division, which is expected to become a separate reportable segment. This expands the platform beyond commercial laundry into consumer garment care.
Cash Flow Supported Deleveraging
The company generated $20.6 million of operating cash flow in fiscal 2026 and invested $7.2 million in capital expenditures. It also reduced debt from $53.0 million to $51.0 million, paid a $5.0 million special dividend, and withheld $1.5 million of shares for employee tax obligations.
Shareholder Returns Expanded
EVI authorized a new share repurchase program of up to $10.0 million on July 28, 2026. The company also paid a special dividend of $0.33 per share in fiscal 2026, up from $0.31 per share in fiscal 2025.
What to watch

And the other side of it.

The offsets in the same document — the things a summary that only listed the good news would have left out.

Sudsies Integration and Execution Risk
The Sudsies acquisition required $37.4 million of cash, while its purchase-price accounting remained incomplete at the filing date; EVI had not yet determined the fair values of assets acquired, liabilities assumed, goodwill or identifiable intangibles. The acquisition also creates a new consumer garment care segment whose integration and operating performance are unproven.
Variable-Rate Debt Exposure
EVI had approximately $51.0 million outstanding under its variable-rate Credit Agreement at a weighted average rate of 5.24% as of June 30, 2026. The filing estimates that a hypothetical 1% increase in daily interest rates would increase annual interest expense by approximately $510,000, while fiscal 2026 interest expense already rose to $3.9 million from $2.7 million.
Concentrated Supplier and Trade Exposure
Four manufacturers accounted for approximately 71% of product purchases in fiscal 2026, compared with 72% in fiscal 2025. Supplier disruption, pricing changes, tariffs or a weaker U.S. dollar could therefore pressure product availability, costs and operating results.
