Aether’s third-quarter revenue fell 4.00% year over year to $328,705 and 2.18% sequentially, while EPS declined to negative $0.11 from negative $0.08 in both comparison periods. Gross margin remained strong at 80.39%, but higher sales, G&A and newly incurred R&D expenses drove operating margin to approximately negative 393.52% and increased the quarterly net loss to $1,342,740. Liquidity deteriorated as cash fell to $2,410,081, nine-month operating cash use reached $3,115,850, and the Company disclosed substantial doubt about its ability to continue as a going concern. The post-quarter Noviant acquisition and AI/product investments may expand the platform, but they add execution, financing and dilution risk.
The parts that mattered.
Pulled out of the filing itself, with the figures the company reported.
- Gross margin remained above 80%
- Gross margin improved to 80.39% from 69.86% in the prior-year quarter as cost of sales declined 37.52% to $64,468. Gross margin was modestly below the prior quarter’s 80.7%.
- Gross profit expanded despite lower revenue
- Nine-month gross profit increased 12.42% to $807,878 from $718,600, despite revenue declining 3.41% to $1,003,550. Management attributed the improvement primarily to a $124,688 decrease in cost of sales, driven by lower analyst salaries.
- Conversion and ARPU improved
- SentimenTrader’s average free-to-paid conversion rate increased to 32.32% from 11.68% year over year for the quarter, while ARPU increased to $157 from $146. The nine-month conversion rate rose to 34.27% from 19.26%.
- Newsletter audience broadened
- AEM had 402,086 free subscribers as of June 30, 2026, although it had a negligible number of paid subscribers. Management expects AEM to help drive traffic to subscription platforms and open potential advertising, sponsorship and premium-content revenue streams.
- Noviant acquisition expands scope
- After quarter-end, the Company acquired 60% of Noviant for aggregate consideration of $3,600,000, consisting of $900,000 in cash and $2,700,000 in restricted Company shares. The acquisition expands the Company beyond its online subscription segment, although purchase accounting remains incomplete.
- Continued investment in AI products
- The Company launched SentimenTracker after capitalizing $118,016 of development costs and continued development of XYZ Terminal, AI tools and quantitative models. Management expects R&D spending to increase as it expands AI-related features.
And the other side of it.
The offsets in the same document — the things a summary that only listed the good news would have left out.
- Operating losses remain severe
- The Company reported a $1,342,740 quarterly net loss versus $1,005,824 in the prior-year quarter, while operating expenses increased 20.50% to $1,557,890. The operating margin was approximately negative 393.52%, compared with negative 311.7% in the prior quarter.
- Going-concern and liquidity pressure
- Management disclosed substantial doubt about going-concern status: the accumulated deficit was $8,867,148, nine-month operating cash use was $3,115,850, and management expects to require additional capital. Cash declined to $2,410,081 from $4,418,169 at September 30, 2025.
- Secured debt may constrain liquidity
- The May and August Streeterville notes have aggregate original principal of $4.86 million and may require redemptions of up to $375,000 per month once both redemption periods begin. The notes are secured by substantially all assets and carry 8% interest, with default interest of 15%.
- Former-director litigation exposure
- The new litigation risk involves claims by former director David Mandel seeking damages in excess of $11.46 million, plus punitive damages, based on alleged compensation of $220,000 annually and a 7.5% equity interest. The case was in discovery as of the filing date.
- Cash burn and capital intensity increased
- Nine-month operating cash use increased 55.94% to $3,115,850 from $1,998,095, while investing cash use rose to $1,670,412 from $9,575. Property purchases of $1,175,098 and intangible-asset purchases of $417,166 materially increased cash consumption.
- Potential equity dilution increased
- The Company granted options to purchase 920,000 shares after quarter-end at an exercise price of $4.24 and issued 82,606 shares in connection with a $360,000 Virtual Grid investment. These transactions create potential dilution while the Company continues to fund losses.
