Peak and current option returns
These percentages describe the alerted contract's option-price change. They are not the investor's P&L, a stock return or the performance of a complete strategy.
- Peak: the highest recorded option price compared with the stored session volume-weighted average price (VWAP).
- Current: the latest recorded option price compared with the same reference. It may be an older observation when no newer quote is available.
- Both use (observed price - reference price) / reference price × 100. A positive value means the option became more expensive; the sign is not reversed for selling or bearish labels.
- The reference is the contract's session VWAP and can change as the alert is refreshed. It is not a fixed entry price available when the alert first appeared.
- Multi-leg alerts: these are lead-leg price changes, not the combined package's return.
Live prices are sampled from the quote feed, so Peak is the highest recorded sample and can miss a move between updates. Historical fills can use daily trade bars. A dash means no return is available; 0.0% is a measured value.
